Profile

Rupert Vogel focuses on advising and representing German and international enterprises both in and out of court with regard to complex agreements especially concerning the internet (e.g. cloud computing, outsourcing), traditional and agile project agreements and project dissonances, the structuring of business models in the new media, the licensing and protection of software and technology especially in the software, automotive, facilities construction and logistics industries as well as museums and archives.

His academic knowledge is reflected in an honorary professorship at Mannheim University, where Rupert Vogel has lectured on French law, IT and copyright law since 1993. As a supervisory board member at several software enterprises, he is familiar with the needs of business operators and compliance issues. Director of the German Association of Law and Informatics (DGRI) for many years, Rupert Vogel knows the players in IT law and can rely on an extended network, especially in France and Switzerland. The time he spent studying in France, working as an assistant there and completing his doctorate, enable him to advise in cross-border German-French case constellations.

Rupert Vogel’s clients include national and international technology enterprises and software companies as well as museums and cultural institutions.

  • Legal guidance during the development of a satellite-supported control system (chip development in the area of autonomous driving) for a European group of technology companies, in particular negotiation of a development contract (agile project management, project centre) with a foreign technology partner.
  • Legal advice during the negotiation of purchase agreements with a European automobile manufacturer, for an Asian group of technology companies in the area of navigation.
  • Legal advice/localization of agreements for an SaaS platform in the area of HR/archive system including the negotiation of individual customer contracts for a French-US IT enterprise.
