Profile
Marc Strittmatter is a well-known IT lawyer in Germany. As Of Counsel at Vogel & Partner he advises enterprises engaged in technology introduction projects in the area of ERP, cloud, outsourcing and enterprise networking (industry 4.0) and regulatory compliance, especially in the area of data privacy protection.
He combines substantial experience in one of the largest groups of IT companies in the world, most recently as head of the legal department of IBM Germany, as a lawyer in the IT law firm Bartsch and Partner and his international activities with applied academic knowledge; he holds a professorship for business law at the University of Applied Sciences Konstanz. His research focuses on the legal conditions of digitization, negotiation theory, technical data protection concepts, legal tech and risk control by enterprises with the aid of legal instruments.
Marc Strittmatter is a member of the German Institute of Arbitration (DIS), for which he guides clients as an arbitrator in arbitration proceedings. He features on the list of “Best Lawyers” for IT law in 2014-2020, and in 2017 was selected as IT Lawyer of the Year.

- Drafting and finalization of RFP and ERP contracts within the selection procedure of a globally engaged medium-sized manufacturer of industrial products with 2 ERP providers. Contract analysis, drafting and finalization as well as final negotiation of licensing, project, maintenance and roll-out agreements during the introduction of S/4 HANA.
- 2nd opinion on evaluation of remuneration claim made by a listed systems supplier against the general contractor of a failed bank IT project. Legal opinion as the basis for decision-making by the board on adhoc publicity.
- Legal expert opinion on compliance under competition and data protection law of a software tool for user tracking and lead generating issued for a leading web-marketing enterprise.
