Profile

Tobias Haar has advised businesses comprehensively on all issues of business and IT law for more than 15 years. This includes the drafting and negotiation of complex agreements in the field of IT as well as business outsourcing, licensing and project agreements. Particular focus is placed on the legal issues of digitization, data privacy protection, open source use, advertising law, on the marketing of digital content and e-commerce topics.

Following his university studies and further legal training, Tobias Haar’s postgrad studies led to his specialization in legal informatics and cartel law. He also completed an international executive MBA. Through his work at the international law firm Clifford Chance and as in-house general counsel for international enterprises, Tobias Haar is familiar with the particular demands of his in-house clients. Numerous visits to foreign countries including the USA, Sweden, Hong Kong and Israel as well as considerable experience in negotiation, drafting and the handling of disputes within international cooperation ventures form the basis of his inter-cultural competence when delivering advice.

Tobias Haar is a freelance author at Heise-Verlag and publishes regularly on IT legal issues in iX Magazine for professional IT. He lectures at the Pop Academy Mannheim and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). He is Board Spokesman of the German games industry association BIU (Bundesverband Interaktive Unterhaltungssoftware e.V.).
